Kangnam University’s Student Council and food company Paldo spent the afternoon giving out free samples of a new brand of ramen to students in front of Shalom Hall.

“We wanted to do something special for the students,” said student council president Yang Ha-eun. “And Paldo hopes students will remember them because of this.”

Tolerating the occasional drizzle and a line often dozens deep, students received a serving of ramen, which they prepared themselves at cooking stations provided.

Not everyone, however, could handle the wait. 1st-year business administration majors Jeon Ji-weon and Jeong Hye-in had to abandon the line after waiting for more than fifteen minutes. “The line’s so long,” said Hye-in. “We don’t have time,” Ji-weon added.

For those who did have the time, the event was a welcome diversion between classes and an opportunity to hang out with friends while trying a new snack.
