Last month Maximiliano Martín, principal clarinet of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and friend of the German School of Music Weimar, released an album of sonatas by Brahms and Fantasy Pieces by Gade on Champs Hill Records. With pianist Julian Milford, Martín elegantly conveys the soul and introspection of Brahms, who wrote these inspired sonatas late in his career. Gade is a natural and delightful complement to this thoroughly enjoyable album. Visit Champs Hill Records to listen to samples or purchase the CD.
Martín taught GSMW masterclasses for students of Prof. Matthias Luft in June and plans to return to Korea next year.
